Westgate mum and daughter team launch catering business

Carole and Stephanie Thompson have launched Classy Creations Catering

A Westgate mum and daughter team have taken the plunge to set up in business together.

Mum-of-two Carole Thompson and daughter Stephanie, who is on a catering course and specialising in patisserie, have launched Classy Creations Catering aimed at providing cocktail parties, personal parties, christenings, weddings and corporate events.

Former Saga worker Carole, 50, said: “We are doing party food, canapes, small nibbles, light teas and buffets.

“I come from a line of caterers – my dad was also an ice cream man – and my daughter is also at college and specialising in patisserie.

“I’m quite comfortable with it and am just waiting for the business to take off. I left Saga last July and felt it would be nice to work for myself doing something that I enjoy.

“I already had lots of the equipment and have the experience.”

Currently Carole and Stephanie, who also works as a model, have a private base in Margate but are looking for shop premises.

They already have orders on the books and have been busy leafleting to get word out. Carole has also been busy making a supply of jams and pickles.

Classy Creations Catering, which sources local produce, also provides meal planning programmes.

Carole said: “We have menus but will tailor orders to what the customer wants.”
