Police appeal after teenager punched in face and robbed of phone in Ramsgate

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was punched in the face and robbed of his phone in Ramsgate.

The incident took place at about 9.40pm when the 18-year-old victim was sat on a bench in Warre Recreation Ground, off Newington Road.

Three unknown males approached him and demanded he handed over his phone. One of them is reported to have punched the victim in the face. All three suspects then ran off.

    • Kent resident, the problem is that when the police do catch vicious thugs like these aholes, the courts only punish them with community sentences.

      Liberal lawmakers, the pc brigade, left wing civil liberty groups and not forgetting Tony Blair’s human rights act have made it harder to incarcerate criminals meaning that law abiding citizens now have no greater human rights or protections than the rapists, murderers and habitual criminals bringing misery and fear to society.

      Soft community sentences are only appeasing criminals not rehabilitating them. The vast majority of people who are actually sent to prison have already received numerous community based sentences for numerous criminal offences with most prisoners having already been caught for between 5-10 offences before being jailed.

      Violent criminals belong behind bars.

    • yes i seem to have the same problem i walk through there every week on my way to a friends home near the old library in newington road. and often see a crowd of people especially on the bench or in the playground at night on the slide or on the swings up to no good
