The Christmas light switch on at St Paul’s Church in Northdown Road took place tonight (December 5) with carol singing, face painting, mince pies and more on offer,

Margate Mayor Mick Tomlinson and Mayoress Shirley Tomlinson attended to ‘flip the switch’ for the tree lights, there was entertainment from Simple Simon and magic from Spinning Top and singing from the Holy Trinity & St John’s Church of England Primary School choir followed by carols with the St Paul’s Worship Band.

The event also featured balloon modelling, crafts, information stalls and the Margate carnival court.
