Man questioned over assault of two women in Cliftonville

Officers investigating a report of two women assaulted in Cliftonville in June have interviewed a man in connection with the incident after he attended a Kent police station – but no arrest has been made.

The assault is reported to have taken place in Ethelbert Crescent, at the junction with Edgar Road, between 12.30am and 12.50am on Sunday, June 30. A man approached a group of people and an altercation took place where the two women were assaulted, receiving injuries. One of the women was taken to hospital.

This morning (October 6) a 24-year-old man from Erith attended Northfleet Police Station for a voluntary, non-custodial interview.

The interview has since concluded and no arrests have been made.

The investigation remains ongoing.
