Broadstairs nursery Barbies has been rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted for a third time.

A Broadstairs nursery has been rated ‘outstanding’ by education watchdog Ofsted for a third time.

Barbies Playschool and Selwyn House Nursery was given the top rating in all areas, including in its quality of teaching and outcomes for children.

The nursery in St Peter’s Road was praised for its “exceptional” outdoor area and highly effective teaching.

Inspector Kimberley Luckham said: “Children of all ages and abilities are extremely motivated and keen to learn.

“They show remarkably high levels of concentration and enjoyment in their play.

“They develop strong social skills and quickly grow in confidence.

“Older children are extremely articulate, independent and competent learners.

“All children make rapid progress in their learning and develop key skills for their future learning and their move on to school.”

Earlier this month, Barbies opened its new baby room and started accepting children under two.
