A man and a woman have been taken to hospital after a dog attack in Margate.

Police were called to Dane Road just before 12.30pm today to reports a man had been bitten by a dog.

A police spokesman said two men have been arrested on suspicion of owning a dog dangerously out of control and the animal has been seized.

The spokesman added: “Officers attended the scene alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man and a women were taken to a local hospital with injuries.”

An eyewitness said people ran out of the Mulberry Tree pub and managed to get the dog off them, but that one person looked like they had an injury to their arm.

“It was a dog attack and police arrested someone and the dog was taken away,” he said.
