A Chinese dragon, fairground rides, King Neptune and plenty of family fun were all on offer at yesterday’s (July 31) Broadstairs Water Gala.
The annual event included The London Chinese Acrobatic team, Lillyputt Teddy Bears picnic, traditional beach games and competitions, water activities, all day bandstand entertainment featuring balloon modelling tricks, night time music and dancing with the band Ozzie and the Uglies.
The firework display also took place after increased security was agreed following disruption at an event on July 17.
Ramsgate RNLI also attended aboard the All-weather boat Esme Anderson and answered questions from parents and children.
Isle photographer Carole Adams caught the fun on camera.
and was there any disturbance
will see that police presence on my council tax bill for next year
it is not the answer
to have a disperal area
still live and learn they do not work
It’s great to see the Water Gala’s still going, pulling the crowds in. I remember that some years ago when it was held mid-August,the Hovercraft would come into Viking Bay and the Red Arrows would zoom in over the rooftops to do their fabulous aerobatics across the Viking Bay Skies;fabulous! In those days my family loved coming on holiday to Broadstairs to a balcony flat at Eagle House on the beach, from which we had a superb views of everything going on.
