Octonauts to join Thanet Baby Sensory 10th anniversary celebration at Dreamland

Baby Sensory celebration

Thanet early years sensory class provider, Baby Sensory, is holding a special 10 year reunion event to take place in partnership with Dreamland Margate on May 29.

Anyone who has attended Baby Sensory classes in Thanet over the last 10 years is invited to come along with their families and reunite with old friends, class leaders past and present and to take part in an official Guinness World Record attempt for the most people in a nursery rhyme singing relay, which everyone can participate in.

There will be special entertainment and guest appearances from children’s underwater explorers The Octonauts, with families invited to take snaps with their favourite nautical crew or settle down with them for a magical adventure story at the end of the day.

The day of sensory celebrations will begin at 1pm and will include nostalgic live sing-alongs of the UK children’s Number One hit ’Say Hello to the Sun’, attendance and special welcome from Baby Sensory’s original founder and leading child development expert, Dr Lin Day as well as interactive Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense sessions.

Fiona Crawford, Baby Sensory franchisee for Thanet, said: “We are really excited about this reunion at Dreamland; 10 years is a big deal for us and we’ve met so many wonderful local parents and babies along the way.  Where are the September Six, or the Kit Kat Club? You know who you are!  It’s a great opportunity to reunite friendship groups and everyone who has enjoyed our classes, to share stories and memories, sing songs and hopefully make history in the community with our Guinness World Record attempt!”

Dr Lin Day, child development expert and founder of Baby Sensory, added: “What a wonderful way to celebrate a whole decade of Baby Sensory in Thanet. I remember my very first Baby Sensory class, I was so keen to help parents to understand the importance of stimulating the senses and how to make play fun and purposeful for babies.  It’s as relevant today as it ever was, everything I ever did was based upon years of research, experience, testing and fun.  I started with three parents and babies in my first class and before I knew it I had 180 babies attending my classes; we set up the nationwide franchise in 2006 and the rest is history! Congratulations to Thanet for 10 wonderful years.”

Eddie Kemsley, CEO of Dreamland, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Baby Sensory Thanet for this spectacular 10 year reunion event.  As well as enjoying the usual thrills of our park rides, we’ll also be joined by our underwater friends ‘The Octonauts’ for some ocean tales and fantastic photo opportunities. Captain Chui’s Pirate Radio will also be mixing some musical treasures and party games from the Scenic Stage.”
