Thanet Scouting and Brigade groups take part in St George’s parade

Ready for the parade

Youngsters involved in Thanet Scouting and Brigade groups have taken part in the annual St George’s Day commemoration parade today (April 28).

Youngsters from all sections of the movement gathered at the Winter Gardens and then took part in the parade around Margate.

Baden-Powell chose Saint George to be the patron Saint of Scouting. He felt that the Saint George legend set a good example of faith, courage and perseverance for future generations.
