A Broadstairs company that produces support equipment for military and commercial electro-optical sensors is in the process of moving off the isle.

Instro Precision, based at the Pysons Road Industrial Estate, is relocating to a purpose-built site at Discovery Park.

Some staff have already made the move while the remainder will be gone in around three weeks time.

The firm has had issues in the past with protesters getting on to the roof and chaining themselves to fencing at the Broadstairs site, claiming the company supplies Israel with weapons to use against Palestinian people in Gaza.

The company has been based in Broadstairs for more than 50 years but says it now needs bigger premises.

Dover District Council approved the new 4,230 sq m (45,531ft) commercial building in 2016.

More than 100 existing staff will be sited at the new building.

The units at Hornet Close in Broadstairs  will be available to lease through MPG Properties.

The company is inviting interest for units 15,18 and 19. Find MPG Properties Thanet here

  1. Congratulations are due to the pro-airport fanatics. Yet another company with all of its money and jobs lost to Thanet because of their insanity.

  2. Eggnog. What’s this got to do with the airport. Obviously NNF fan who just wants to blame everything on the airport. Still, soon be open again!
