A 13-year-old girl has been charged with wounding with intent following a reported assault on 12-year-old Charles Dickens pupil Evee-Anne Cooper.

On Thursday 29 November at around 3.30pm Evee-Anne suffered a head injury during an assault that took place in Arlington Gardens. Video of the incident which went viral on social media caused a public outcry.

A 13-year-old girl, and two 15-year-old girls were arrested on suspicion of assault.

The 13-year-old girl from Margate will appear at Canterbury Youth Court on Monday, February 4 charged with wounding with intent.

One 15-year-old girl has been released without charge and the second 15-year-old girl remains under investigation.

Overwhelming support for Evee-Anne and her family came from Thanet residents and a host of stars. In December Evve-Anne was presented with a £6,000 cheque from a fundraiser set up by residents Kyle Barber and Jay Holloway.
