A man has been robbed in Ramsgate – with the culprit then fleeing in a transit van.

Detectives investigating the report of robbery are now appealing for witnesses.

The incident is reported to have taken place in Nursery Close between 12.50pm and 1.20pm on Friday 9 November.

The victim, a man in his 40s, told officers he had been approached by a man who demanded he hand over his wallet and phone.

The suspect, who is described as being white, 6ft tall, of a stocky build and wearing a grey Lacoste tracksuit, then drove off towards Ramsgate town centre in a Ford Transit van.

Detective Inspector Keith Taylor said: “We are appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or who recognises the description of the suspect – or of a white woman with blonde hair and a red coat who was with him at the time – to contact us.”
