Westwood Cross has announced it will welcome two reality television stars to its switch on line up for this year’s Christmas lights display. Chris and Jon Clark from The Only Way is Essex will take centre stage on Friday (November 16) officially launching the festive season at the centre. The duo will be joined by The Mayor of Broadstairs & St Peter’s.
Entertainment will start from 4pm, with Tyber, lead singer of popular band The Dualers, kicking off the event. The party atmosphere will continue with performances from top UK ABBA tribute band Björn Again, X Factor finalists Four of Diamonds, Panto Stars from the Theatre Royal in Margate. Pauline Quirk Academy as well as Westwood Cross’ Young Performer of the Year, 11 year old Mabel Walton, Battle of the Buskers Winner Big Steve and The Worshipful The Mayor of Broadstairs & St Peter’s.

Westwood Cross will be opening their new Toy Fort Grotto. Open from Saturday, November 17, children can meet Father Christmas and receive a special gift. It is recommended to book early, as the magical experience is expected to be extremely popular.
Francesca Donovan, Centre Manager, said: “Following last year’s success with Love Island stars, Gabby and Marcel switching on the lights, we can’t wait to welcome two of the biggest reality stars of the year to reveal our brand new Christmas lights. The display features a new illuminated reindeer, swathes of twinkling lights and our snowman, Christmas pudding and elf ‘selfie pods’ to capture the most festive selfie.
“The new lights scheme has approximately 75,000 LED with a total of 3,000 meters of light strings, you might need to bring some sunglasses!”
Christmas lights switch on event details
Date: Friday 16th November
Time: Event starts at 4pm, with the lights switch on at 6.00pm entertainment continues until 6.30pm shops remain open until 7.30pm with Primark, M&S and TK Maxx open until 8pm.
