Emergency services at the scene of Westgate crash

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a two car crash in Westgate where one woman had to be freed from her car by fire crews.

Police, fire and ambulance have attended the incident in Canterbury Road, close to Ursuline College.

A South East Coast Ambulance service spokesman said: “We were called at 2.10pm and currently have a car and an ambulance at the scene of a two car collision. We have reports of a person with a potential neck injury and spinal pain.”

Fire crews attended to help one driver trapped in her car.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “KFRS was called to a crash involving two vehicles in Canterbury Road, Westgate on Sea at 2:23pm. Two fire engines attended and crews stabilised one of the vehicles before assisting paramedics in releasing a woman onto a long board.”

Emergency crews remain at the scene.
