A new micropub in Broadstairs is getting ready to welcome beer lovers

Family business: John, Max and Luke are ta the helm of The Pub

The opening of a new micropub in Broadstairs will be a real family affair with two brothers and their cousin at the helm.

John Beerling, 27, Max Bell, 18, and Luke Bell, 19, have taken on the former premises of The Offy at The Broadway and will be opening the doors to punters from noon tomorrow (November 3).

Off licence trade worker John, from Garlinge, says The Pub micropub will focus on real ales, craft beers, good wines and a selection of gins.

He added: “There is also a record player for vinyl so people can play their own music and we will have board games. We are also going to be extremely dog friendly.

“We want to maximise the market with the inclusion of fine wines and different gins. We want to give people a warm, relaxed, fun community environment.

“People want to belong to something local and the micropub is a good social point. It is something I had talked about with my uncle for quite a few months and then The Offy closed down and this chance came up.

“We’ve had some really positive feedback and people have been really welcoming so although we are a bit nervous we also can’t wait to open.”

The premises has had a full refurb and John, Max, from Ramsgate and Luke, from Deal, are now ready to welcome punters.

Drinks will be served from noon and food from 6pm.

The Pub is at 9 The Broadway, Broadstairs, or find them on facebook here
