Get ready for Newington Rocks 2018

Families at last year's Newington Rocks

A rocking good time is promised at a one-day festival of music and fun in aid of charity in the grounds of Newington Community Primary School in Ramsgate.

Newington Rocks 2018 on Saturday, June 30, follows last year’s successful event that raised money for CRY, the Cardiac Risk the Young charity.

This year’s show will benefit Pilgrims Hospice and is once again expected to attract up to 1,000 people.

The festival features a range of entertainment and activities from noon until 6pm and entry is just £1.

Bands are lined up to play on two stages and include soul and funk from Coco, club classics and party anthems from Funkle Pie (pictured), classic rock covers from ACDC and Alice Cooper to Queen and Thin Lizzy with rockers Ignition, and solo vocalist Jaz.

Activities and games will include an inflatable assault course, kangaroo suits, bouncy castle, face painting, traditional fairground coconut shy, Lil’ Jockeys horse rides, face painting and more.

Refreshments will be available and visitors can take their own food and drink if they prefer but no barbecues are allowed.

Tickets are available at the school through Emma Manning on 01843 593412.

Head teacher Cliff Stokes said: “This is a great chance for the community to get together in aid of charity and enjoy a great afternoon of entertainment and music, thanks to our hard working organisers and fantastic performers.”
