Three children arrested after St Peter’s cash machine is vandalised

A boy and two girls are in custody after a cash machine was vandalised in St Peter’s.

Kent Police was called at around 1am today (May 18) to a report that the machine was being targeted outside a supermarket in Hopeville Avenue.

Officers attended the area to carry out enquiries, which included the review of CCTV.

The cash machine was damaged and the screen was smashed. Nothing was reported stolen.

A 14-year-old boy and two girls aged 12 and 13 from Margate were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage just before 6am in the area of Dane Park.

All three remain in custody while enquiries are ongoing.
