Shakespeare on the Beach returns to Margate in July with a production of Measure for Measure.
Changeling Theatre, with funding from county councillors Lesley Game and Barry Lewis, will bring the bawdy and witty play to Margate Main Sands.
The production will tell the tale of Vienna, rife with brothels, loose morality and ludicrous characters. The weak Duke goes undercover, leaving his strict deputy Angelo in charge to clean up the city.

But when Angelo sentences young Claudio to death for sleeping with his wife to be, Claudio’s sister Isobel, a nun, pleads for his life. Angelo agrees to spare him, but the stakes are high. Isobel faces an impossible choice…
Changeling’s Measure for Measure is inspired by the Moulin Rouge with more than a hint of the Burlesque.
It will be on the main sands on July 7 at 7.30pm – 10pm.
