Casino quiz night raises funds for East Kent Mencap

The quiz raised cash for East Kent Mencap

A charity quiz night has raised more than £250 for local learning disability charity, East Kent Mencap.

The event was hosted by Grosvenor Casino at Westwood Cross to help raise funds for the vital services which provide opportunities for adults and children with a learning disability in East Kent. The casino arranges regular quizzes for various local charitable causes throughout the year.

The event attracted nine teams which battled for the top prizes by answering questions across a wide variety of categories. There was a raffle on the night, with prizes kindly donated by Morrisons in Margate and The Body Shop in Westwood Cross. A total of £261 was raised, which will help the charity to provide opportunities for adults and children with a learning disability.

Fundraising officer Siobhan O’Gorman said: “Thank you to Grosvenor Casino for hosting and to everyone that took part and helped us raise funds for our services.

“The casino did a great job in organising the quiz on our behalf. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and we already have teams asking when the next one will be!”
