Year 5 pupils at St Laurence Junior Academy in Ramsgate have taken a step back in time with an Ancient Greek Day.
The session at the Newngton Road school on April 23 was run by Living History Workshops and gave pupils a hands-on experience of what Greek life was like. Pupils were able to dress like Greeks, fight like Spartans, celebrate like an Athenian and take part in Ancient Greek rituals.
Stephen, aged 10, said: “The day was extremely enjoyable, and I loved being able to take part in a real Olympic Games!”
A school spokesman said: “The rousing success of the day will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the future learning of the pupils, as they continue to study the Ancient Greeks in history.”
