Man arrested and fresh appeal made over Premier shop robbery in Ramsgate

Officers investigating a report of a robbery in Ramsgate have made an arrest and issued a CCTV image in a renewed appeal for information.

Between 8.30pm and 8.40pm on Wednesday 31 January two men entered the Premier shop in Rydal Avenue, threatened the victim and demanded cash. The victim was assaulted but managed to raise the alarm. Cash was reported as stolen.

Police arrested a 25-year-old man from Ramsgate in connection with the robbery on Wednesday 18 April.

He has since been released on police bail until Saturday 5 May pending further investigations.

Investigating officer PC Justine Cullen said: “We are continuing to appeal for information in relation to this robbery and are now in a position to issue a CCTV image.

“While the faces of the people in the image may not seem clear, we are asking anyone who thinks they recognise either person or have information which could assist our investigation to come forward.”
