Robbers targeted the Premier store in Rydal Avenue

A newsagents in Ramsgate has been robbed by two men wielding a hammer and a baseball bat.

It is reported that between 8.30pm and 8.40pm on Wednesday 31 January  the men entered the Premier shop in Rydal Avenue, threatened the victim with  the weapons and demanded cash.

It is believed the victim, who was standing behind the counter, was hit across the head but was able to raise an alarm. The suspects then ran out of the shop and cash was stolen.

Both suspects are described as white men, one was taller than the other. One was wearing jeans, trainers and a black jacket with red or purple stripes. He had a blonde moustache, was wearing black gloves and had a black backpack.

The second man was described as wearing black jogging trousers with white stripes down the side, grey trainers, a black hooded coat and a coloured scarf.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or saw the men in the area leading up to, during or shortly after the incident.
