Police investigate damage and theft from Thanet Asda cash machines

Asda Broadstairs

Damaged cash machines in Broadstairs have led to a Kent Police investigation.

On Friday, March 9 between 1am and 2am two cash machines outside Asda in Westwood Road were damaged and cash was stolen.

Officers are investigating the theft and reviewing all CCTV opportunities.

In a similar incident, on the same day, another cash machine outside Asda in High Street, Ramsgate, was also damaged during the early hours. It is not yet known whether any cash was taken.

The suspects are described as two white men, around 5ft, 10in and wearing dark clothing. One of the men was believed to be wearing a light-coloured parka coat with a fur-lined hood.

Detectives are not ruling out the possibility that the thefts and attempted thefts are linked to three damaged cash points in Sturry Road, Canterbury, which also happened outside a supermarket on Monday 26 February at around 2.30am.

Anyone who witnessed anything or who has information that could assist the investigation is asked to call 01843 222289 quoting ZY/12211/18.
