
Armed police response units, the police helicopter, and several police vehicles have been called to an incident in Ramsgate High Street.
Kent Police confirmed the armed response unit had been called in following a reported robbery in the High Street and that a man had been arrested.

A police spokesman said: “At 1.35pm today (Wednesday, 7 February) police received a report of a robbery at a shop in High Street, Ramsgate.

“Enquiries are ongoing and armed response officers are on the scene.”

Police have not yet confirmed which store was targeted but witnesses suggest it was the International Eastern European convenience shop.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “A man has been arrested by armed police officers following a report of an attempted robbery.
“Officers were called to High Street, Ramsgate, at 1.35pm. It is reported that two men assaulted a member of staff at a shop before making off.”
