Emergency services called to Joss Bay after man falls from cliffs

Emergency services have been called to Joss Bay this morning after a man fell 70ft from the cliffs.

Isle resident Ania Adamczak saw police, ambulance and fire crews at the scene at around 7.30am today (September 25).

An air ambulance is reported to have landed at the site just after 9am.

Kent Police was called at 7.11am  after the man fell from cliffs in the Joss Bay.

A spokesman said: “Officers are currently in attendance along with colleagues from the ambulance service and coastguard.

“The man has suffered serious injuries and is expected to be airlifted to hospital.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances behind the incident but no crimes have been reported and there is not believed to be any third party involvement.”

A Secamb spokesman added: “Ambulance crews, including our HART, have attended the scene along with the air ambulance. A man with potentially serious injuries has recently been airlifted to Kings College Hospital.”
