Crews tackle fire at former Cliftonville care home

Fire crews have tackled a blaze at a derelict care home in Cliftonville.

Crews were called to the fire at a three-storey  building in Edgar Road, at 3.20pm

Four fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished a fire on the second floor of the property.

Crews also carried out a search of the premises. There were no reported casualties and the incident was reduced to three fire engines just after 4pm. Crews remain on the scene damping down hotspots.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
