A burglar who targeted a Ramsgate hair and beauty shop has been jailed.
Pure Escapism Hair and Beauty, in the High Street, was broken into in the early hours of Sunday, July 9. Two culprits were caught on CCTV footage which was circulated on social media.
The shop had suffered six break-ins in total.
The burglars had broken in through a fire escape window and took cash from the stores Pringle machine, an iPad, GHD straighteners and GHD hairdryers as well as the staff’s tip money box.
A store spokesman said at the time: ““They completely ransacked the office looking for money. The total damage and goods stolen was about £2,000. It’s the sixth time they have done it and we are getting so fed up with it. It’s so frustrating.”
On July 20 at Thanet Magistrates Court one of the culprits was sentenced for the crime.
Tom Dixon pleaded guilty to burglary.
The 26-year-old, of Albion Road, Ramsgate, was sentenced to 180 days in prison. He must also pay £200 compensation.
Damage and goods stolen was about £2,000. Burglar ordered to pay £200 compensation. Crime was not supposed to pay!

Agreed. The owner should sue the burglar for damages as well as the stolen money.
I have moved to thanet from London and quite honestly thanet has more crime right across the scale than an area of the same size in East London and the criminals are all local bred scum.
