Man flown to hospital following tipper accident in St Peter’s

The Kent air ambulance and the fire service were called to an accident involving a tipper truck in St Peter’s this afternoon.

The air ambulance was alerted to a man injured in the incident in Ranelagh Grove just after midday and Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called in to assist due to a fuel leakage from the tipper.

It is believed the man may have been trapped after the vehicle rolled. He was treated for leg injuries at scene by the air ambulance’s doctor and paramedic and flown to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford.

The scene was cleared by 2.25pm.

Kent Police confirmed officers had received a report of the man had been injured in an industrial incident.

The Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
