Emergency services called to Birchington crash

Traffic was being diverted this morning (September 26) following a crash in Birchington.

The accident happened on the Margate-bound side of the Canterbury Road, close to King Ethelbert School and Queen Bertha’s Avenue, at 8.35am.

The collision involved a black VW Touran and a red Renault Clio. The female driver of the Clio suffered a minor injury to her leg and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Vehicles were being diverted to the other lane but traffic was backed up.

The coastbound carriageway was closed while the vehicles were recovered. The road had re-opened by 10.15am.
