Armed police cordon off Invicta House in Margate after report of armed man making threats to kill

Armed police cordoned off an area around a Margate towerblock today (November 29) after reports of a man with a weapon.

Offiicers were called to Invicta House in Millmead Road at 2pm.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to a report of a man making threats with a weapon in Millmead Road, Margate at 2pm,

“Armed officers attended the scene where a 30-year-old man from Margate was arrested on suspicion of affray, threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon.

“There were no reported injuries, a sword was seized by police and the man remains in custody whilst enquiries continue.”
