A man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene after collapsing in Margate yesterday (August 26).
South East Coast Ambulance service was called to the Cecil Square area, near to the former Lloyds at The Centre, at 4.30pm to the medical emergency.
Members of the public, aided by members of the Margate beach enforcement team, had been performing CPR until emergency teams arrived.
Multiple paramedic crews attended but despite their best efforts the man sadly did not survive.
A South East Coast Ambulance spokesperson said: “South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) was called shortly after 4.30pm yesterday following reports of a medical emergency as a man collapsed at Cecil Square in Margate.
“Multiple crews attended, including a critical care paramedic, and CPR was commenced.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone involved, the patient was declared deceased at the scene.”
Kent Police attended the scene to assist paramedics and close off part of the road while the teams worked.
