Officers from the Met Police, City of London Police and forces across Kent joined Thanet officers today in a deployment across the isle.
The multi-force collaborative operation involved 25 visiting officers alongside Thanet’s community team officers and the local Neighbourhood Team to maximise police presence on the isle.
The aim was to share skills, knowledge, and best practices between forces –Multiple dispersal notices were issued and arrests were made.
PC Joseph Yoofoo, from the Neighbourhood Task Force, said: “Overall, this was a highly successful operation, delivered with professionalism, teamwork, and a real passion for keeping our community safe.
“We hope to continue working more frequently with our partner forces, building on this collaboration to develop skills, share expertise, and strengthen the way we police together.”
PC Absolon said that in Broadstairs 18 people were dispersed from the town and alcohol was seized from underage drinkers yesterday (June 26) and today he arrested a male who refused to give their details on request after being abusive. They were found to be in possession of cannabis and were dispersed from the town and issued a community resolution.

The london police deal with these crimes daily and nights not put a few Security guards in the town its a real issue to public safety gone on for far to long

They never do. Despite all the rules, regulations and policies – there is no enforcement.
You have to report the matter to TDC on Monday when the office is open.
Obviously, that is then too little too late – and of course totally pointless. However, it avoids the necessity of anybody having to address the issues head on.

Given that much of the trouble has been bussed in, it’s only reasonable that some officers from their home turf accompanied them.
What is the point of “community resolutions”? Seems to be an easy way of saying you’ve done something , but in reality you have’nt. Does anyone ever check that they’ve been complied with?
Plus according to a web search, as they are agreements , if not complied with nothing else happens. Is it possible to come up with anything less useful?

Since the Victorian era and before Thanet has had visitors from London . Seaside resorts need Tourism to survive . I think it’s a sensible idea that the London force are helping our local force with problems they deal with daily .I bet you old moaners were around when the B/H mods and rockers used to fight or the skins and punks – there will always be trouble when the sun’s out , lots of people mixed with drugs/alcohol –
Who said anything about tourists? We are talking about the nearly always young, shirtless, shouty, aggressive & a booze can in their hands types getting on the trains in London in the morning-usually without buying a ticket & nearly always carrying drugs/laughing gas coming here to cause mayhem.
I have said the same thing & bought up the Mods & Rockers as a comparison when those here wax back to their imaginary rose-tinted glasses golden age. I wasn’t around for that personally though. The point was these people are pretty easy to spot & are usually carrying illegal substances & boarding trains illegally-stop them before they get here in the first place, prevention is always better than cure.
