Four Thanet mums are celebrating the first anniversary of their business, Hair Collab Salon in Cliftonville.
The friends decided to take the leap and work for themselves in April 2025 with the launch of their Northdown Road salon.
Clare Thomson, Elize Spencer, Gemma Harker and Hayley Elliott says they have a shared passion for hairdressing and have each worked in the industry for decades, including backstage at the famous London Fashion week.
Their business is also free of any products tested on animals and completely vegan.
They said: “From the very beginning, we dreamed of creating more than just a salon. We wanted a space that felt calm, welcoming and full of positive energy, a place where creativity flows, laughter is constant, and every client feels truly cared for.
“We took great care in selecting our product line. With extensive research we decided on Layton House professional as our brand. It ticked all the boxes. It’s sulphate and paraben free, cruelty free with the PETA approval which means not only are none of the products tested on animals but also none of the ingredients are either.
“It’s also completely Vegan and the performance and quality of the colour and products are phenomenal.”
The four say the best part of the journey so far has been working together and being able to laugh even through the busiest days.
They added: “This month we celebrate our one year anniversary, we’re so proud of what we’ve achieved. Our little dream team has organically grown into something really special. Every day, we get to do what we love, surrounded by beautiful surroundings and even more beautiful people. How lucky are we!
