After an absence of some seven years the Margate branch of the Royal British Legion has reopened under a new committee and at a new base in Unity House, Cliftonville.
The branch closed following the sale of Legion House in Margate in 2018. Although some meetings were held at various venues after that sale the branch eventually ceased.
But last week, the branch was oncxe more formally formed at an event with guests including the Kent County Chairman, new Branch Chairman and committee members.
he committee brings together military, corporate, and community leaders whose experience spans the British Army, the Royal Air Force, the Navy, national charities, children’s services, and public civic roles.
Their backgrounds include senior command appointments, specialist training and assurance posts, overseas operations, and leadership within the RAF Police. They also bring decades of service to Reserve Forces, cadet organisations, and veteran communities, along with experience running major organisations, establishing Ofsted-regulated services, and guiding charities, academies, and health bodies.
