London’s Lovebox Festival is coming to Dreamland Margate.
The last festival was held at London’s Gunnersbury Park in 2019 but was scuppered by Covid the following year.
The Dreamland event next year will mark the return of Lovebox after a seven year gap.
Taking place across 29th & 30th May, Lovebox Presented By Dreamland will include acts – Rudimental, Soul II Soul, Jayda G, 4AM KRU, Girls Don’t Sync, Goldie, b2b Special Request, Scissor Sisters, Friendly Fires, Horse Meat Disco and more across the weekend.
Inspired by a box of records – each marked with Love Heart-covered post-it identifying treasured tracks – Lovebox was established in 2002, and was a mainstay of the London Festival circuit until covid hit.
Now, the people who built it mark a fresh chapter with their new partners Dreamland.
Lovebox will take over Dreamland’s three main stages across the weekend – the Main Stage, Hall By The Sea, and the Roller Rink, with music spanning drum and bass, garage, disco, pop, soul and club sounds.
Dreamland CEO Eddie Kensley said: “Dreamland is quickly becoming one of the country’s top music venues, hosting packed indoor and outdoor events with diverse, genre-defining artists. Since reopening in 2015, it’s grown into both Margate’s cultural hub and a key stop on artists’ touring schedules. Opposite Margate’s golden sands, Dreamland offers vintage rides, roller discos, arcades, pop-ups, art installations, and street food..”

I feel for the neighbours, who never bought into the change of use regarding the site.
Totally agree, the music should be inside,why shatter thousands of peoples ,days weeknights for music. Most people who agree with music outside at Dream land don’t live within earshot so don’t care about the locals
I love hearing the music and the crowds excitement on a summers evening. Great to see more business being pulled into the wider Margate community, that these large events always bring.
