The atmosphere at Ursuline College in Westgate was abuzz this morning as Year 13 students celebrated an exceptional set of results.
Ursuline College says that in a comprehensive school setting within a selective area, this year’s achievements stand out as truly remarkable.
Students secured over 50 top grades; A*-A in academic A Level subjects and Distinction–Distinction* in vocational courses. Nearly a third of those studying academic A Levels achieved A*-B grades, while well over a third of vocational students attained the highest Distinction* or Distinction grades.
Youngsters can now progress to their first-choice universities, apprenticeships, or career pathways. This year’s destinations are as diverse as they are impressive — from joining the RAF to studying at prestigious universities, including Biomedicine at Birkbeck, Dance at the famed Italia Conti, Accounting and Finance at City, University of London, Computer Science at the University of Kent, English Literature and Publishing at Bath Spa, Law at the University of Lincoln, Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church, and Education at the University of York.
Standout achievers were Isaac Prince, who will study Accountancy at City, University of London after achieving a Distinction* in Business, A* in Finance and EPQ, and a B in Maths; and Olivia Little, who has been accepted to read Law at the University of Warwick after achieving A*s in Criminology and English Literature, an A in RS, and a Distinction* in Psychology.
Congratulations have also been extended to Grace Rowley, recipient of this year’s Reading List Foundation Scholarship.
Headteacher Danielle Lancefield said: “We celebrate today with every single one of our students. Their relentless effort, hard work, and perseverance have brought them the success they deserve. They should be proud of both their achievements and the people they have become.
“These achievements would not have been possible for them without the support of their loved ones and our amazing body of staff whose efforts and commitment are to be applauded.”
Director of Sixth Form Jonathan Joyce added: “These results are a testament to the dedication and ambition of our students and the unwavering support of our staff. We are immensely proud of what they have accomplished and excited to see where their futures will take them.”
