Pupils, staff and visitors were treated to a dramatic journey into Ancient Greek mythology this week as Year 6 at St Laurence-in-Thanet CE Junior Academy staged their end-of-year production: The Minotaur.
Performed three times across the week, the production was a resounding success, showcasing the pupils’ acting, singing and storytelling talents. One of the showings welcomed special guests from Ellington Infant School, who joined an exclusive preview performance.
The play retold the legendary tale of Theseus and the fearsome Minotaur, combining powerful performances with striking costumes and evocative music to transport audiences back to the world of gods, heroes and mythical beasts.
Miss Blades, Mr Bottles, Mrs Kirk and Mrs Cook led the production with dedication and creativity, guiding the pupils through rehearsals and preparing them for their time on stage. Their efforts were instrumental in bringing the ancient myth to life and ensuring every child had a moment to shine.
The production marks the final performance for this Year 6 cohort before they move on to secondary school.
