A Broadstairs café, bar and rooms has ceased trading with the building now on the sale market.
Ebenezer’s Place – formerly Artfuls- closed last Sunday (July 13) although the B&B will continue until the property is sold.
Co-owner Neal Parton says the closure was due to a combination of factors including the building being on the market but added: “The current state of the economy makes for challenging times, together with so many cafes and or bars opening in Broadstairs.
“The recent trouble in Broadstairs has also made a difference to the overall footfall.”
But, the journey is not over. Neal, partner Michael Whitehead and the Ebenezer’s team have moved out of the John Street property and into the former Louisa’s Lounge across the road in York Street.
The premises has been renamed Twist’s and is offering pizzas – including breakfast and dessert versions!
Neal said: “All of our pizza will be handcrafted from scratch and made to order. We will be making breakfast pizza and dessert pizza as well as the normal range, all on a thin based sourdough base.
“We will still be offering a full brunch menu, at our new opening times of 8am until 2pm and our pizza menu will also be available from 9am. Our opening hours will be 8am until late 7 days a week with our kitchen closing at 9.30pm.
“We will still be serving the same excellent coffee by the Kent Coffee Company, together with our loose leaf teas from The Debonair Tea Company. We also have a comprehensive new wine and cocktail menu and are now offering Poretti on draft too.
“All of this has been a whirlwind of an experience as it has all happened so very quickly. However I am very excited at being able to offer all of Broadstairs a very different dining experience.
“All of this couldn’t have been possible without the support of my amazing partner Michael Whitehead and also the amazing team we have around us, also not forgetting my family and friends that have lent support through this exciting journey.
“I’m very excited with this new venture and to be able to offer something very different to Broadstairs.”
Twists opened this morning (July 17) and the booking system is live on google.

So they close one because of difficult trading conditions, other food places and street trouble, just to open up a few doors away .Will the same trading conditions and street trouble not affect them in the new place ,this is Broadstairs we are looking at But good luck to them
