A man who was the victim of an assault in Ramsgate last month has sadly died.
Kent Police was called at 10.41pm on Friday 28 March to Harbour Street following a report of a man suffering head injuries from an assault.
Officers attended along with paramedics and the victim, in his 60s, was treated before being taken to King’s College hospital in London.
Kent Police says officers are continuing to investigate following the man’s death.
A police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 10.41pm on Friday 28 March to a report of an injured person in Harbour Street.
“Officers attended along with paramedics and a man in his 60s was treated for a head injury before being taken to a London hospital, where he has since died.
“Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are in contact with those involved and enquiries are ongoing.”
Marshall Mitchell, of Crescent Road, Ramsgate, was previously charged with unlawful wounding in relation to the incident.
The 34 year old appeared before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday 31 March and was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 28 April.
Anyone found to have stamped on someones head is guilty of attempted Murder – the only reason to stamp on someone’s head is to crush the skull. it causes massive bleeding, swelling and brain damage. If they succede Then ‘Life’ should be the Punishment.

Phyllis Quot – does it matter how they were caused! The injured person had severe head injuries regardless of method applied, which has resulted in his premature death.
It does matter to an extent, the circumstances will go some way to determining the length of sentence.

There might have been a fight, and the victim tripped, fell over and smashed his head on the pavement.
The circumstances make a huge difference.
yes, it massively matters if false information online could prejudice a trial. Its an offence called contempt of court.

This person has been in and out of prison since he was about 14 for various crimes .his sister is in prison for robbing an old man of who was on palliative care of £3000 and Sadly died 8 weeks later. and his mum was and still might be inside for assault. So it runs in the family .they used to live near us in Ramsgate.
Very sad news indeed. And now the defence will plead to have the predicted sentence of 16 hours community service turned into 32 hours. After all there are too many 60+ walking our streets.
These 32 hours will be a terrifying deterrent for other thugs planning to do the same.
Imagine 32 hours without their Xbox! They’d rather go to prison and beat their high score!
Not funny for the victims of crime: our justice system must change. Shorter (cheaper for us) sentences, but harsher conditions. Once out of jail you would do anything not to be locked up again.
