A new interpretation sign has been unveiled in Pegwell by award-winning Ramsgate actress Brenda Blethyn.
The Pegwell & District Association has spent nine years fundraising, researching, designing and submitting the planning application but now the board is finally in place.
It was unveiled on Saturday (February 22) on the lawn at Pegwell Road and Goodwin Road.
Brenda, who most recently played the role of DCI Vera Stanhope in the ITV crime drama series Vera, did the honours.
The actress, who was born in Ramsgate in 1946, maintains strong links with the town.
Pegwell & District Association chairman Richard Kinzler said: “We were honoured to have the esteemed actress Brenda Blethyn, known for her incredible versatility and award-winning performances including a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and a Cannes Film Festival Award, join us for this special occasion.
“Brenda was the perfect choice, with her strong connections to Ramsgate, making the event even more meaningful.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and supported us throughout this journey. Your encouragement has been invaluable, and we are so proud to share this achievement with our wonderful community.”
