GCSE results at Dane Court

Dane Court Grammar School has another year of exceptional GCSE results, with 57% achieving grades of 7 or above.

An impressive 15% of examinations were awarded the top grade 9, reflecting outstanding dedication and hard work of both students and teaching staff.

The Year 11 students excelled once more in core subjects, achieving high proportions of top grades in English, Maths and Science. 26% of students were awarded level 9 in English and 25% of students received either grade 8 or 9 in Maths; 94% of students achieved a strong pass (5 and above) in both English and Maths. In all three sciences – Biology, Chemistry and Physics – an astonishing 79% of students achieved grades 7-9.

Headteacher Martin Jones said: “These excellent results are a testament to the students’ hard work and commitment, as well as the expertise and dedication of our entire staff team. Our students are well-prepared for their post-16 studies, and we look forward to celebrating further successes as they embark on their IB courses with us in September.”

Highlights include:

Michaela Murphy was awarded 10 grade 9s and a grade 8, and will study higher level Chemistry, Biology, English and Maths.

Valerie Czarnecka was awarded eight grade 9s and will study higher level Geography, Biology and Art.

Sky Koster achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8 and will study higher level Chemistry, Philosophy and Spanish.

Skylor Chapman achieved seven grade 9s and will study higher level Maths, Film and Physics.

Sama Bugren was awarded seven grade 9s and will study higher level Chemistry, Biology and Maths.

Mary Nash achieved five grade 9s and three grade 8s and will study higher level Chemistry, Biology and French.

Cameron Melloy was awarded five grade 9s and two grade 8s and will study higher level Chemistry, Biology, Maths

Denholm Crotty achieved three grade 9s and five grade 8s and will study higher level Physics, Maths and History.
