GCSE results 2024: Students at Hartsdown Academy celebrate strong results

Results day at Hartsdown

Hartsdown Academy and its Year 11 students are celebrating a set of strong exam results.

This year’s cohort completed the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme curriculum at Key Stage 3 which focuses on developing knowledgeable, creative, and hardworking young people who develop a lifelong love for learning. This prepared them for their Key Stage 4 studies.

It is anticipated that record numbers of students will return to Hartsdown to study the International Baccalaureate Career-Related Programme. Others will go on to college courses and apprenticeships.

Headteacher Matt Tate said: “Hartsdown Academy is a school that provides an ‘education for an amazing life’. We are delighted to see this culture being lived out by our students and our year 11s can be very proud of themselves.

“I am immensely proud of the results our students have achieved. They have approached their GCSEs with confidence, composure, perseverance and effort in equal measure. They have demonstrated excellence with their approach to learning and have worked incredibly hard to ensure that they have the keys to achieve their ambitions in terms of their next steps.

“I am most proud of the type of young people that will be entering our sixth form and other local educational institutions. Our students are hardworking, skillful and compassionate young people, we are proud to send them out into the world and our local and national community.

“I would like to thank the incredibly hardworking and dedicated staff body that supported these students in achieving their results and in becoming positive members of the community. Hartsdown and the Coastal Academies Trust are here to serve our community and our staff enable this vision to be achieved through their efforts. I would like to thank our families for the support they have given their children and the school.

“My final thoughts though are with our students, we are proud of them and we are delighted that they have been rewarded for their efforts this year.”
