Man remanded in custody over serious assault of two men in Birchington

A man has appeared in court charged with a serious assault in Birchington.

Kent Police was called to a report that a man had been assaulted in Rossetti Road at 11.25am on Wednesday 12 June.

Officers attended and two men had suffered injuries which required hospital treatment.

David Furlong, of Main Road, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing cannabis.

The 35-year-old appeared before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Friday 14 June and was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 15 July.
