Work is underway on a £3.5 million Hollywood Bowl family entertainment centre at the former Debenham’s store in Westwood Cross which will create 40 new jobs.

The ten pin bowling centre is due to open in August. It will feature 22 ten pin bowling lanes, including 4 luxurious VIP lanes, state-of-the-art amusements and a bar and diner.

Those taken on for vacancies will be able to undergo training and development programmes for the leisure and hospitality industry.

Alex Poole, Centre Manager at Hollywood Bowl, said: “It’s time to let the good vibes roll as we start work on what is set to be a fantastic new family entertainment centre which will bring modern LA bowling entertainment to life right here in Broadstairs.

“Hollywood Bowl has built a strong reputation for delivering affordable family experiences across the UK and we can’t wait to welcome all ages and abilities from across the city to have fun and make memories together in our new state of the art bowling centre during the summer holidays.”

To help guests keep the competitive spirit going, Hollywood Bowl’s amusements area will offer leading games, such as Mario Kart as well as all time family favourites including air hockey and racing games.

Hollywood Bowl Westwood Cross will open towards the beginning of August.

Guests are encouraged to sign up to the VIP mailing list for updates and exclusive offers at https://www.hollywoodbowl.co.uk/westwood-cross.

  1. You can be in doubt where TDC and KCC think this area is heading when incomers talk about “across the city”.

    • Indeed, this is the madness we now have to live with. Another London overspill. Communities are created as a result of the government policy of moving residents out of Greater London

  2. All good wholesome foods on offer, “American classics such as hot dogs, burgers, shakes and signature cocktails” and you wonder why there’s an obesity crisis.

    • No one is forcing you or anyone else to imbibe, stop moaning about everything and people like you ,life is to short,

      • Yes life is short Ray, and even shorter if you are fat, overweight, and obese! Saw a women yesterday waddling along, on sticks, and probably in her 40’s! Her heart was doing the work of two people, and she will need new knees soon by the look of the things, unless she has diabetes of course, and has her legs amputated, all at our expense on the NHS! Are these people especially thick? As my mum used to say, you are what you eat, so what are these people eating, raw Lard!

    • Cannot be local, might be American. A city with a cathedral is often termed a cathedral city but there is no particular criterion.

  3. Will create 40 new jobs? or replace the jobs lost when Debenhams closed down?
They all say that when something replaces something, it’s like aren’t we so good for the area?
Hiding behind the fact that they are in it to make money.
