Margate singer-songwriter Daisy Beau releases debut single

Daisy Beau

Margate singer,  songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, performer, and music producer Daisy Beau releases her debut single, “Bear Love” today (May 24).

The single, selected as Record of the Week by BBC Kent’s Abbie McCarthy, marks a significant milestone in Daisy Beau’s musical journey.

Inspired by the themes of strength, support, and resilience found in Philip Pullman’s “His Dark Materials” trilogy, “Bear Love” is a tribute to the profound connections we share with those who stand by us through adversity.

Daisy Beau’s music has garnered critical acclaim. She earned a First-Class Degree in Popular Music from Goldsmiths College (University of London) and was awarded the esteemed Rob Stringer (Sony) Music Scholarship.

Daisy has showcased her talents on platforms such as BBC2 Radio Live Lounge with Jo Whiley, Later with Jools Holland, and the UK Top 10 Album Charts. Recent performances include the Barbican Centre with contemporary vocal ensemble Institute Collective, live improvisation sessions with Congo Natty and Falle Nioke, and a sold-out solo show at the Tom Thumb Theatre in her hometown, Margate.

Produced, mixed, and performed entirely by Daisy, “Bear Love” is the culmination of years of dedication and creative exploration

To coincide with the single release, Daisy is planning a series of festival appearances and performances this summer. Additionally, the music video for “Bear Love” is slated for release on the same day, adding another dimension to the song’s narrative. The video was created by artist Vicky MacLeod.

Daisy said: “I loved collaborating with Vicky as she animated, illustrated and hand-crafted every aspect of the video. I’ve been blown away by Vicky’s talent and skill.

“She is an incredible visual storyteller, and “Bear Love” couldn’t have been in better hands. The music video perfectly captures the song and I feel emotional every time I see it – it brings the whole story to life.”

“Bear Love” is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and more.
