Millmead Children’s Centre needs your vote in bid to win Christmas fun day funding

Millmead Children's Centre

Millmead Children’s Centre is appealing for people’s support to help gain funding from a Ticketsource competition.

The centre has been operating in Dane Valley Road for more than 20 years and offers a myriad of services from NHS health clinics to disability assistance, family services and a sensory room.

The ticketsource competition is offering up to £1,000 for winners in a public vote.

Millmead Children’s Centre says it would use the money to pay for a  Christmas fun day with grotto.

The centre’s entry says: “The funding would be spent on presents for the children, decorations and materials to transform our large hall and garden into a winter wonderland. Funding is very limited or null in the Centre so this would give us an opportunity to provide a fantastic event for our families.

“The materials purchased will also be reused for each year, so the funding from ticketsource would not be for just one event but for future events too.

“We are in a deprived area, food banks and support are extremely high in our community and families rely on our centre for extra support. This event would allow children and families to access special events that they would not normal have the funds to attend.

“This would increase wellbeing, social interaction and bring happiness to families and children at a time where times are difficult.”

A panel of TicketSource judges will deliberate and decide the final winners from the shortlist for the first, second, and third-place prizes.

Prizes are 1st £1000, 2nd £500, 3rd £250 and 4th to 10th £100 each

The closing date for votes is midnight on Sunday, June 2 and winners will be announced the following day.
