The Lido in Cliftonville will host The Fatback Band as they return to the UK to play their “most spectacular live shows ever.”
The Lido show will take place on Friday 7th June at 7pm. A second show will take place in Brighton.
The UK shows are in celebration of Bill Fatback Curtis being inducted in the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in October last year.
Formed in New York City in 1970, the Fatback Band was the concept of Bill ‘Fatback’ Curtis.
Fatback, mixed Jazz, Funk and prefigured Disco and were at the beginning of Rap; their 1979 rap single “King Tim III” was released a week before the Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight.”
The Fatback Band have released over 35 albums and have had countless hits, which have become club anthems, including: I Found Lovin’, Spanish Hustle, (Are You Ready) Do The Bus Stop, Back Strokin’ and“King Tim III (Personality Jock).”
Tickets are £27.50 plus a booking fee of £3.

Before this, there will be a few exciting events happening at the Lido, with Sub Hugga X Ransaked Records doing their 10-year tour alongside Uncle Dugs and Nooch, happening on the 27th April.
Running from 8pm to 3am, these artists will aim to fill your DnB hunger, as they celebrate their milestone of 10 years in the scene.
The tickets will be priced £13 and a booking fee of £1.55.

For families, a Youth Club Daytime Disco will be taking place on the 26th May from 12pm to 5pm.
With standard ticket pricing being £10 plus a £1.25 booking fee.

On the 31st May, an event which aims to “recreate the atmosphere of a live Joy Division gig” will be taking place, as Transmission- The Sound of Joy Division, perform at a gig running from 7pm to midnight.
Tickets to this event will cost £12.50 with a booking fee of £1.50.
