A Birchington barber shop has made the finals of the British Hair and Beauty Awards.

Kings barber shop in Station Road opened in May last year and has proved to be a hit with customers.

The salon offers cuts, shaves, hot towel and massage and has a great ‘yellow digger’ chair for the little ones.

It is owned by Enver Yeshilbulut and run by business partner Cetin, best known as Jimmy, who are both from Cyprus.

Enver, 39, also has barber shops in Deal-where he lives- and Aylesham.

He said: “Jimmy has been working with me for 5 years now. He started barbering in Cyprus but when he came England I trained him to a very high standard and now he’s my business partner in King’s Barbers Birchington.

“The shop has been open almost a year now and all the credit must go to him.”

Enver, who has been a barber for 19 years, has previously won the best barber title three times and also a best shave title. He has 18 barbers across his three shops.

Jimmy, 26, and Enver will find out if they have taken the 2024 title at an awards ceremony held in Birmingham this July.

Winners are decided by a panel of five judges who independently score each of the finalists. Those with the highest collective score are named as winners.
