Fire crews called after Storm Isha rips part of roof from Margate house

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a house in College Road in Margate last night (January 21) after a large part of a flat roof was blown onto a pavement and blocked the pathway.

One fire engine attended the scene at 11.14pm and crews helped to clear the scene and make sure the area was safe.

No injuries were reported and firefighters finished at the scene at 11.35pm

The incident occurred as Storm Isha battered the country. During the gales a greenhouse was also blown on to the railway line at Westgate.

Travel was disrupted with fallen trees and there were power cuts across the country due to the gale force winds and rain.
