A bitterly cold evening at the WW Martin Community stadium, as Ramsgate host the Wasps. After the weekend defeat away at Lancing the Rams will be looking to bounce back.

Wasps get us under way attacking the town end of the ground, it’s not long before Rams start to show their mettle.

Joe Taylor makes a run from deep, the ball over the top is over hit and the attack breaks down, again Rams with a ball over the top this time Tjjan Jadama, Matte Pierson in goal for the Wasps reacts quickly to intercept it.

Rams really are showing superb form. Alfie Paxman down the left is making good in-roads, eighth minute, deep cross into the area, defended by Jasper Tetlow.

Good work by Jadama going forward wins Rams’ second corner, crossed into the area and Pierson tips the ball away for another corner.

Eleventh minute, a quick throw to Taylor, he turns, winning Rams’ fourth corner, ball coming in deep and Pierson again tips it away for another corner, the pressure building all the time. As the corner comes over the ball is knocked out to the edge of the box and Craig Stone only has one thing on his mind and smashes in a well-placed shot from range.

Rams look well on top and are moving the ball around well, as Wasps are sitting on the back foot, just sixteen minutes in and Rams have had eleven corners thus far.

Twentieth, Rams go forward again, this time with a fantastic passing move from back to front, down the left side played to Bode Anidugbe who’s cross is just behind Taylor.

Twenty first, Rams through ball from Jack Parter in midfield up to Alfie Paxman. He outpaces the defence and fires home beating Pierson with the power in his shot.

Twenty seventh, Wasps first attack going down their right, they win a throw and have a long throw right into the heart of the Rams box causing a few issues but Rams manage to clear for a corner. Wasps try a move and play the ball out to be fired in and Dan Johnson blocks the effort.

Taylor upfront for the Rams is seeing a lot of the ball but is clearly being held, although he does still manage to create and have a couple of opportunities.

As Rams continue to press, Jack A Paxman tries his luck from all of forty yards with a venomous strike stinging the hands of Pierson who has to pat the ball down. Moments later Taylor goes through and has a one on one with Pierson who does extremely well to keep Taylor out eventually getting the ball.

Just on the stroke of half time Lee Martin defending for Rams gives the ball away to Oluremi Onabanjo who strikes fractions over Tom Hadler’s bar.

Rams start on top from the off in the second half, with Jack A Paxman firing a cross into Taylor, he’s unable to get a shot away as Pierson blocks him from the ball.

Wasps are feeling they might have a chance as they start to show their resolve creating a couple of forward chances. Cameron Lawson down the left manages to get a cross right into the area, cleared by Stone at the back. As Rams break forward Anidugbe wins a midfield challenge, plays the ball forward to Jadama, out to A Paxman, his cross just behind the Rams attackers in the box.

Approaching the hour mark Lee Martin has a great chance, fired his shot past Pierson only to be stopped by Tetlow to keep Wasps in the game, ball comes out wide left and fired right across Pierson’s goal.

Wasps appear to have a foothold in the game, but Rams fight back, they really do need another goal as Wasps are looking confident at just two – nil.

Seventieth, a glorious Rams move down the left, Parter to A Paxman, the ball swings across to the right, Martin beats the defender and plays a perfect cross for Jadama to slam the ball home for Rams third.

A few substitutions are made by both sides.  One of the Rams sees Jadama going off for Medy Elito, with the game going a little flat as Wasps appear beaten and Rams just moving the ball around. Rams change again Jack S Paxman off for Mike West.

Although Rams look the stronger of the sides there are still threats from the Wasps as they have made changes upfront.

Eighty fourth, Rams make their final change as Wes Hennessey comes on for Alfie Paxman.  What a change this makes, as Hennessey drops into a number ten role with a lot of pace.

Going forward, eighty seventh, ball from the back up to Hennessey taking it on the run, heads toward goal out pacing the defence, he crosses to Taylor to slip the ball under Pierson for Rams fourth.

Wasps have not given up and Tom Cadman finds himself in the Rams box, receives a cross and fires a first time shot on target blocked by Stone.

Rams straight up the other end as they pass quickly forward, Hennessey tries his luck at the near post, Pierson making a good stop diving on the ball.

Just in time added on, a long pass forward from Dan Johnson finds Jack S Paxman on the right wing, he plays it to Medy Elito, takes a touch to his left and fires off a magic strike with his left foot beating Pierson for Rams fifth.
